It's not everyday I meet a new bug, but that's what happened today at Long Key Natural Area and Nature Center in Davie. She (or maybe he) was hanging
out on a corky-stemmed passion flower (Passiflora suberosa) in the park's ephemeral wetland habitat. The bug didn't introduce itself, so I had to do a little online research when I returned home. The verdict: Thin-lined passionvine beetle. Doesn't it look kind of glittery?
