When I spent most of my waking hours writing, I would absorb much information about the subjects I interviewed and then develop an angle from which to write a story. In the process, some of the details gathered would fall away while the most relevant wold be kept and polished.
Photography feels like a similar process and one that I have grown to love even though I still have so much to learn about it. Just as with writing, my attempts at paring down the big picture always help me to see things in a more intimate and meaningful way.
That's why I keep taking pictures. This one is a portrait of a mute swan at Flamingo Gardens in Davie.
