Thanks to a friend who once gave me a walking iris from her grandmother's garden, as well as a few more in recent years, I now have several dozen -- maybe a hundred - walking irises.
I have one little garden under a window that is nothing but these irises. Each morning, shortly after the sun begins to hit that garden, they start to pop open. The first photo above shows one that had already started to pop, and the second shows the next step of its opening. It happens quickly, so you can actually watch it. I hope to do a video of this one day ... or at least a complete set of photos of the entire process.
